Forgotten unpublished manuscripts written between 1915 and

1918 by Sophie Brzeska  in

A Special Limited Edition of 125 numbered copies

 

The book measures 9¾ x 7¼ inches and is printed on Zerkall mould-made paper with the Handbinding bearing a Vorticist image by Gaudier-Brzeska. It is a version of Sophie Brzeska’s autobiography ‘Matka’, an account of her meeting with Henri Gaudier in Paris, their  life  together in France and England and the events following his death. Also included are a group of letters from her to the artist  Nina Hamnett.

The original manuscript was written partly in French and partly in English.

It vividly evokes her emotional state. This is the firt time her actual words have been published.

 

 

Publication date is June 17th 2008 at £100 per copy
